Obituary of Alice Barone

Alice Lucille Smith Barone, age 77 of 407 Lane Dr., Elizabeth City, NC died Wednesday, January 01, 2003 at Albemarle Hospital. She was born in Jim Thorpe, PA; daughter of the late Irvin Smith, Jr. and the late Catherine Hallier Evans and was the wife of Joseph Barone of the residence. She was a retired Registered Nurse, a graduate of Philadelphia General Hospital in 1946, a former director of Nurses at Cobbs Creek Nursing Center in Philadelphia, PA; Pennsylvania Prospect Park Nursing Home, Prospect Park, PA; Kearney Nursing Home, Sharon Hill, PA; and former Charge Nurse at Connor Williams Nursing Home in Ridley Park, PA. Besides her husband, Mrs. Barone is survived by a daughter, Janice Dandar of Elizabeth City, NC and two grandchildren, Alicia Dandar of Charlotte, NC and Justin Dandar of Elizabeth City, NC. She was preceded in death by a brother, Irvin Smith, III. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, January 3, 2002 at 2:00 PM in Holy Family Catholic Church by Father James Buchhloz and Pastor Daniel D. Reinheimer. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
