Obituary of Roy G. Rast

ROY GEARHART RAST Retired USN veteran Roy G. Rast, age 67, of 1065 Aydlett Road, Poplar Branch, NC died Saturday morning , Jan. 4, 2003, in the Brian Center. He was born in Yacolt, Washington. Mr. Rast was retired from the US Navy after 22 years of service and formerly worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a sheet metal worker. He was a Baptist. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Ledbetter Rast of the home, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at 3:00pm in the Twiford Memorial Chapel, Church St., Elizabeth City, NC. There will be a visitation for family and friends, Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.
