Obituary of Evelyn Marie Jordan

Evelyn Marie Jordan, age 77, of 170 North Spot Road, Powells Point, NC, died Saturday, January 4, 2003 at Sentara Barco Nursing Center in Barco, NC. She was born in Currituck County, NC, the daughter of the late Noah and Dora Mercer Harris, and was the widow of William Horace Jordan, Sr. Mrs. Jordan was a homemaker and a member of the Jarvisburg Church of Christ. Mrs. Jordan is survived by two daughters, Joyce Kight, of Halifax, NC, and Judy Payment of Grandy, NC; five sons, William Horace Jordan, Jr. of Elizabeth City, NC, Terry Wayne Jordan, Sr., Danny Lee Jordan, and Gary Wayne Jordan all of Powells Point, NC, and Larry Lee Jordan of Southern Shores, NC; one sister, Lenora Page of Poquoson, VA; eleven grand children; and three great grand children. She was pre-deceased by one brother, Claude Harris. Funeral services will be Monday, January 6, 2003, at 2:00 PM at Jarvisburg Church of Christ with Minister Dennis Crehan officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and at other times at the residence.
