Obituary of John Rudolph Werderman, III

South Mills, NC CWO3 USN RET. John Rudolph Werderman III, age 59, of 300 Spencers Ave., South Mills, NC, died Saturday, January 25, 2003 at the Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Evansville, Indiana, son of the late John Rudolph Werderman, Jr., and Irene O’Riley Werderman Ricamore of Chulavista, CA, and was the husband of Barbara Croy Werderman of the residence. Mr. Werderman was in the US Navy for over thirty years, was a CWO3, USN Ret. He was most recently a Supervisor of the Iron Shop at the US Coast Guard base in Portsmouth, VA. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a President of Methodist Men. He was a member of the South Mills Ruritan Club, and past Governor of the Albemarle District. He taught welding at the College of the Albemarle. Besides his wife and mother, Mr. Werderman is survived by: two daughters Barbara ‘Sissy’ and husband Randy Marrs, of South Mills, NC, and Orenia ‘Binky’ and husband George Grothe of Clayton, NC; three sons, Grady Werderman and wife Kim of Elizabeth City, NC, Chris Werderman of Clayton, NC and Jonathan Werderman of South Mills, NC; four sisters, Pat Hunt of IN., Frankie Mitchell of IN, Nancy Ferguson of KY, and Wilma Siedlarz of VT; two brothers, Bill Werderman of WA, and George Werderman of CA, and eleven grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother Timmy Werderman and a step father Rick Ricamore. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church in South Mills, NC by the Rev. Jim Krepps. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
