Obituary of George “Buzzy” Townsend, Jr.

George ‘Buzzy’ Townsend, 45, of 2209 Center Hill Highway, Hertford, NC, died Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Norfolk, VA to the late George Lee Townsend, Sr. and the late Sarah Lane Townsend and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Mr. Townsend is survived by one sister, Jerri Edwards of Elizabeth City, NC; two brothers, David Lane of Hertford, NC and William Lane of Norfolk, VA; two nieces, Sarah Spivey and Heather Edwards and one great nephew, Joeseph Spivey. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, February 7, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel by the Rev. F. Joe Griffith. The family will receive friends at the home of Edith Mansfield, 2221 Center Hill Highway, Hertford, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Perquimans County Rescue Squad, P. O.
