Obituary of Laura Mae Buckman Strathearn

Elizabeth City, NC Laura B. Strathearn, age 73 of 121 Olivet Cir, Elizabeth City, NC died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at Albemarle Hospital. She was born in Lima, NY; daughter of the late Fredrick and Ida Buckman and was the widow of William Richard Strathearn. She was a nurses aid, a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and a member of the Dorcus Group at the church. Mrs. Strathern is survived by two daughters, Annette S. Forbes of South Mills, NC and Paulette S. Chrisley of Dublin, VA; four sons, Lyle Edward Strathearn, Edward Strathearn, Gary Strathearn, and Walter Strathearn, all of Elizabeth City, NC; a sister, Tke Carpenter and her husband, John S., Sr. of Rochester, NY and several brothers. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, February 14, 2003 at 3:00 pm in New Hollywood Cemetery with Dr. James Slade and Pastor Claude Steen officiating. The family will receive friends at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, NC Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM and at other times at the residence.
