Obituary of Elizabeth Mathews Bundy

Elizabeth City, NC Elizabeth Mathews Bundy, age 101 of 101 Nancy Dr., Elizabeth City, NC died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at her residence. She was born in Perquimans Co, NC; daughter of the late John R. and Caroline Thompson Mathews and was the widow of Percy A. Bundy. She was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church and the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Women since 1921, The Mt. Hermon Home Demonstration Club and the World War I Veterans Women’s Auxiliary. Mrs. Bundy is survived by two daughters, Melba Bridgman of Elizabeth City, NC and Ola Mae Cimerro of Raleigh, NC; a son, Nolan Bundy of Elizabeth City, NC; five grandchildren, Linda Bridgman, Donald Bridgman, and Clark Bridgman, Karen Peters and Pamela Brown; eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Audrey Banks and Ola Norman. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 16, 2003 at 4:00 PM in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church with Rev. Haywood Gillikin officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, NC on Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM, immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the residence.
