Obituary of Erdis Leon Lewis

Erdis Leon Lewis Hyde County Native Erdis Leon Lewis, age 85, of 310 Jessup Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday, February 14, 2003, at the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Lewis, a native of Hyde County, was the husband of Alma Williams Lewis of the residence and the son of the late William Earnest Lewis and Lydia Midgett Lewis. He was a US Army Veteran of WW II, a retired mechanic from the Naval Air Station, an honorary member of the Masons, and a member of Forest Park Church of God. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dusty Lewis of Jacksonville, FL, and Rusty Lewis of Wake Forest, NC; two sisters, Alma L. Williams and Erma Dell Spencer both of Fairfield, NC; two brothers, Leslie Lewis and Wilbur Lewis both of Fairfield, NC; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be Monday, February 17, 2003, at 2:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Scott Neal officiating.
