Obituary of Elsie Sawyer Mercer

Camden, NC Elsie Sawyer Mercer, 83, of 125 Shipyard Rd., Camden, NC, died Friday, March 07, 2003 at Albemarle Hospital. She was born in Camden County, NC to the late Carl and Lena Williams Sawyer and was a salesperson with F. W. Woolworth’s and Chessons and a Baptist. She is survived by a daughter, Rose M. Harris of Camden, NC and a grandson, Steve Harris and wife Gloria of Roper, NC. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, March 10, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel by the Rev. F. Joe Griffith. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service and at other times at the residence of Rose Harris, 125 Shipyard Road, Camden, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the SPCA of Northeastern North Carolina, P. O. Box 1772, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
