Obituary of Audrey V. Smithson

Audrey Virginia Harrell Smithson Perquimans County native Audrey Virginia Harrell Smithson, age 76, of 587 343 North, Camden, NC, died Monday, May 5, 2003, in the Albemarle Hospital. Mrs. Smithson, a native of Perquimans County, was the wife of Hersey Smithson, Sr., of the residence and the daughter of the late Thomas Miles Harrell and Lizzie Nash Harrell. She was a homemaker and a member of Geneva Baptist Church. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Patsy Sivills and husband Bob of Camden, NC, Sue Lane of Elizabeth City, NC, and Sharon Dance and husband Jeffrey of Hertford, NC; one son, Hersey Smithson, Jr., of Monroe, NC; one sister, Hazel Jordan of Virginia Beach, VA; six grand children, Jennifer Gray, Stephanie Brickhouse, Lisa VanHoy, William Dance, Melissa Dance, and Walter Dance; two great grandchildren, Steven Brickhouse and Amber Brickhouse. She was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Dance and a sister Marvourneen Scott. A memorial service will be Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at 4:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Greenway officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence and request memorial donations to the SPCA, PO Box 1772, Elizabeth City, NC, 27909. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, is in charge of arrangements.
