Obituary of Woodrow Whitson

John Woodrow Whitson John Woodrow Whitson, age 86, formerly of Perkins Lane, Waterlily, NC, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Sentara Barco Nursing Home. Mr. Whitson, a native of Currituck County, was son of the late John Jesse Whitson and Mary Amelia Beasley Whitson and the husband of Lillian Crain Whitson of Barco, NC. He was a retired commercial fisherman and hunting guide, and a member of Coinjock Baptist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Whitson Henley of Waterlily, NC; a son, Wilbert Woodrow Whitson of Waterlily, NC; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be Monday, May 12, 2003, at 3:00 PM at Hamption Cemetery in Waterlily with the Rev. Charles Wellons officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence of the daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Bobby Henley, 1135 Waterlily Raod, Coinjock, NC. The online register may be signed at www.twifordfh.com.
