Obituary of Joe Harry Sanders

Joe Harry Sanders, Sr. Allendale, SC native Joe Harry Sanders, Sr., age 79, of 1604 Darian Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Sanders, a native of Allendale, SC, was the husband of Pauline Pippin Sanders of the residence and the son of the late Belton O’Neil Sanders and Laura Henrietta Hazel Sanders. He was a retired service manager of Goodyear and a sales representative for City Service Oil Company and a member of Campground United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, NC. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Callie Sanders Sugg and husband Jimmy of Elizabeth City, NC, Paulette Sanders Deacy and husband Bob of Holly Springs, NC; a son, Joe Harry Sanders, Jr., and wife Chris of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren, Amy Sugg Morgan and husband Matt, Laura Marie Sanders, Bradley O’Neil Sanders, Jessica Lawton Deacy, and Robert Martin Deacy, Jr. He was predeceased by his twin sister, Hazel Sanders Gibson, two brothers, Belton O’Neil Sanders, Jr., and Walter Hazel Sanders, Sr., and a grandson, J. R. Sugg, Jr. A graveside service will be Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at 11:00 AM at Swallow Savanah Cemetery, Allendale, SC. The family will receive friends at Smith Rhoden Funeral Home, 215 Water Stree, Allendale, SC, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening.
