Obituary of Martha Berry Midgett

MARTHA BERRY MIDGETT Pasquotank Co. Native Martha Berry Midgett, 91, of 701 Cedar Street, Elizabeth City, NC died Monday, May 26, 2003, at 7:10pm in the Ashton Woods Nursing Home, Atlanta, GA. She was born in Elizabeth City, NC to the late Milton W. and Sophia Dozier Berry and was the widow of the late A. Parker Midgett. She formerly taught high school English and French in Franklin, VA. Mrs. Midgett was a member of the City Road United Methodist Church, Golden Circle Sunday School Class and the Sunshine Ladies Circle. She is survived by a daughter, Carole Sawyer, and husband, Bruce, of Dunwoody, GA., a son, Richard Morgan, and his wife, Tracey, of Elizabeth City, a stepson, Robert P. Midgett, and his wife Janet, of Greensboro, NC; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, June 7, 2003, at 2:00pm in the Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, NC by Rev. Charles McKenzie. Burial will be in the Hollywood Cemetery. The family will be at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to City Road United Methodist Church, P.
