Obituary of Mildred Burkett

Elizabeth City, NC Mildred Skinner Burkett, 95, of 1700 West Ehringhaus Street, Elizabeth City, NC died Sunday, June 15, 2003 at Winslow Memorial Home. She was born in Suffolk, VA to the late Theodore and Lina Mae Norfleet Skinner and was the widow of Cecil R. Burkett. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, Portsmouth, VA. Mrs. Burkett is survived by one son, Cecil R. Burkett, Jr. of Camden, NC; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Burkett Tanner. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Parkview Baptist Church, Hatton Street, Portsmouth, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkview Baptist Church of the church of one’s choice. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is in charge of arrangements.
