Obituary of William Johnson

WILLIAM DWIGHT JOHNSON Native of Harnett County, NC William Dwight Johnson, 90, of 7875 Caratoke Highway, Powells Point, NC died Friday, June 20, 2003, in the Britthaven Nursing Home, Nags Head, NC. Mr. Johnson was born in Harnett County, NC to the late Junius and Ada Pollard Johnson and was the widower of the late Della Kathryn Rhodes Johnson. He was a retired production manager for the Kelford Coca Cola Bottling Company and a member of the Powells Point Baptist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Sylvia Sparks and husband, Jim, of Powells Point, NC, three grandsons, Jim Sparks and wife, Gincie, of Greensboro, NC, Brad Sparks and Daniel Sparks both of Powells Point, NC and a great granddaughter, Parker Sparks of Greensboro, NC. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, June 23, 2003, at 3:00pm in the Powells Point Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Herbert Hemingway. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dr. W. T. Griggs Elementary School Library, Poplar Branch, NC. The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sparks, Powells Point, NC.
