Obituary of Sidney G. Garrish

SIDNEY MAE GASKINS GARRISH, 82, of Ocracoke, NC died Friday, June 27, 2003 in an Elizabeth City hospital. Mrs. Garrish, a native of Ocracoke, was a homemaker and a member of the Ocracoke Assembly of God. She was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Betty O’Neal Gaskins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thurman Styron and second husband, Leslie Garrish. Mrs. Garrish is survived by a daughter, Betsy Outlaw of Belhaven, NC. Funeral services will be held at the Ocracoke Assembly of God on Sunday, June 29, 2003 at 3:00 pm with Rev. John White officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 pm prior to the service. There will be a reception in the church fellowship hall following the service. Burial will be in the Ocracoke Community Cemetery. Twiford’s Island Chapel, Hatteras is handling arrangements
