Obituary of Thomas F. Hayes

Elizabeth City, NC Thomas F. Hayes, age 73, of 105 Hunters Trail W., Elizabeth City, NC died Thursday, July 24, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Highland Park, NJ; son of the late Edmund A. and Jane Dunigan Hayes and was the husband of Betty Hayes of the residence. Mr. Hayes was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He was a retired engineer and a veteran, having served in the U. S. Air Force. Besides his wife, Mr. Hayes is survived by a daughter, Kathleen H. Day of Chesapeake, VA; a son, Timothy J. Hayes of Suffolk, VA; two sisters, Mary Hayes Griggs of North Fort Myers, FL and Joanne Hayes-Rines of Boston, MA; a brother, Arthur Hayes of Gunnison, CO; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted on Monday, July 28, 2003 at 11:00 AM in the Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Jim Buchholz officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cremation Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The G.R.E.A.T. Fund, C/O Rines, 65 East India Row # 24E, Boston, MA 02110.
