Obituary of Ralph Romaine

Ralph R. Romaine Retired Aircraft Electrician Ralph Richard Romaine, age 72, of 918 Bartlett Avenue, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Romaine, a native of Cooperstown, NY, was the husband of Shirley Harris Romaine of the residence and the son of the late Elmer Wallace Romain and Mildred Truax Romain. He was a retired aircraft electrician at the Elizabeth City Coast Guard Base having been in the civil service for thirty four years, and he was a US Navy veteran. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Ralph Romaine, Jr., Ronnie Romaine and Michael Romaine, all of Elizabeth City, NC; two brothers, Ted Romain of Knoxville, TN, and Barry Romain of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren; one great grandson; one step grandson; and one step great granddaughter; and a special family friend Douglas Henderson. He was pre- deceased by a son Larry Romaine. A memorial service will be Saturday, August 2, 2003, at 4:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Milton Brandt officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the lobby of the funeral home and at other times at the residence. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, is in charge of arrangements.
