Obituary of Mary Sawyer Trueblood

Mary Sawyer Trueblood, 89, formerly of Pritchard Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Thursday, August 7, 2003, in the St. Francis Nursing Center, Newport News, VA. She was born in Pasquotank County, NC, to the late Eddie and Ida Banks Sawyer and was the widow of George W. Trueblood. Mrs. Trueblood was a member of the Union United Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn T. Pietrzak and husband, David, of Cleveland, OH; one son, George E. Trueblood and wife, Margaret, of Newport News, VA; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 12, 2003, in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, NC, by the Rev. Arthur Leary. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will greet friends and relatives in the lobby of the funeral home immediately following the service. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to Union United Methodist Church, 465 Dry Ridge Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
