Obituary of Jerry Dowless

KITTY HAWK, NC JERRY DOWLESS, 45, of Kitty Hawk, NC, died Thursday, August 14, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Dowless, born in Portsmouth, VA, was owner and operator of Jimmy’s Seafood Buffet in Kitty Hawk and was a Protestant. He was the son of Waitus A. Dowless of Kill Devil Hills and Aileen Ellis Sanders of Kitty Hawk. Besides his parents, Mr. Dowless is survived by his wife, Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Tesoriero Dowless of the residence; a daughter, Sophia Dowless, two sons, Shane and Jason Dowless, all of Kitty Hawk; and a sister Vicki Slaughter of Mt. Pleasant, SC. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Monday, August 18, 2003 at 10:00 am with Father Joseph Klaus officiating. Burial will be in the Southern Shores Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Holy Redeemer on Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. The family also requests that in lieu of flowers, donation be made in memory of Jerry to Crossroads Ministries, c/o RBC Centura Bank, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949.
