Obituary of John F. Wandell

John F. Wandell Resident of Elizabeth City, NC John F. Wandell, age 77, of 1082 A Commissary Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died, Sunday, August 17, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Elmira, NY; son of the late Francis and Lucy Campbell Wandell and was the husband of Minnie Knights Wandell. He was a retired engineer for the U.S. Army and worked as a state employee for the county of Chemung, NY. Besides his wife, Mr. Wandell is survived by a daughter, Victoria L. Freeman of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons, Kelley D. Wandell and Paul S. Wandell both of Elizabeth City, NC; a sister, Shirley Wood of Elmira, NY; two brothers, Richard Wandell of Elmira, NY and Gary Wandell of Tacoma, WA; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Wandell and a grandson, Ryan J. Wandell. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at 11:00 AM in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Alfred Moncla officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the William Clarence Jackson Post #6060. The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Vinny Freeman, 1082 B Commissary Road, Elizabeth City, NC, at other times.
