Obituary of Charles Darlington

Hatteras, NC Charles Raymond Darlington, 73, of Hatteras, NC died Friday, August 22, 20003 at Albemarle Hospital. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late William and Catherine Slack Darlington and was the husband of Dixie Meekins Darlington of the residence. He was a retired technical writer for IBM and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Coast Guard. Besides his wife, Mr. Darlington is survived by four daughters, Karen Garmany and husband Robert of Raleigh, NC, Janice Darlington of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Laurie Hedgpeth and husband Tim of Fuquay Varina, NC, and Julie Conner and husband Kevin of Powells Point, NC; one sister, Janet Wensink and husband Bill of Gladwin, MI; and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Dare County S.P.C.A.
