Obituary of Donnie Scarborough
SOUTHERN SHORES, NC
CLEVELAND DONOVAN ‘DONNIE’ SCARBOROUGH, 76, of Southern Shores, died Saturday, August 23, 2003 in a Chesapeake, VA hospital. Mr. Scarborough, born in Duck, NC was a retired Chief Boatswain’s Mate with the U. S. Coast Guard and served during WWII. He was also a commercial fisherman and a member of the Duck United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Lewis and Leona Sandlin Scarborough.
Mr. Scarborough is survived by his wife, Iva Beacham Scarborough of the residence; a daughter, Lillie Scarborough Hussey of Kill Devil Hills, NC; a son Stephen Scarborough of Bowling Green, KY; three brothers, Gary Scarborough of Kitty Hawk, NC, Lewis ‘Tink’ Scarborough of Kill Devil Hills, NC and Ronnie Scarborough of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Duck United Methodist Church on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at 11:00 am with Rev. David Clift officiating. Burial will follow in the Austin Cemetery, Kitty Hawk. The family will receive friends at the residence, 15 Circle Drive, Southern Shores.
