Obituary of Arnette Owens

Camden, NC Arnette Brite Owens, age 77 of 200 Riverview Ave., Camden, NC died Thursday, August 28, 2003 at her residence. She was born in Pasquotank Co, NC; daughter of the late Rufus and Laeura Harris Brite and was the wife of Floid Edward Owens of the residence. She was a dedicated member of Corinth Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She was a former bookkeeper for Belks and former co-owner/operator of the Causeway Marina. Mrs. Owens is survived by four daughters, Kitty Games of Camden, NC, Janet Cartwright of Saluda, VA, Floyd Dean Dail of Camden, NC and Linda Lowry of Elizabeth City, NC; a son, David Owens of Camden, NC; three sisters, Nannie Mae Hall of Chesapeake, VA, and Louise Jackson and Dot Scott, both of Elizabeth City, NC. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, August 31, 2003 at 3:00 PM in Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Roy Head officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church and at other times at the residence.
