Obituary of Neva Curles Moffitt

Neva Mae Curles Moffitt, age 63, of Elizabeth City, NC died at 8:20 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2003, in Sentara Nursing Center, Barco, NC. She was born in Roper ,NC; daughter of Lillie Mae Hassell Curles of Elizabeth City, NC, and the late Woodrow Wilson Curles and was the widow of William Groves Moffitt. Mrs. Moffitt delivered The Virginian Pilot for many years and was a charter member of Olivet Lakes Pentecostal Holiness Church. Besides her mother, Mrs. Moffitt is survived by a daughter, Constance ‘Connie’ Kemp of Kill Devil Hills, NC; a brother, Gordon Curles of Elizabeth City, NC; and two sisters, Clara Curles Davis of Hertford, NC and Frances Curles Davis of Manteo, NC. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 5, at 11:00 AM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, NC with Rev. Ray Archer officiating. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM, immediately following the service in the lobby of the funeral home and at other times at the residence of her mother, 805 W.
