Obituary of Acie Mayo Price

Elizabeth City, NC Acie Mayo Price, Sr., age 85, of 1948 North Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Sunday, September 7, 2003, in Guardian Care Nursing Home. He was born in Pasquotank County son of the late James Acie, and Mettie Melissa Divers Price, and was the husband of Virginia Jones Price of the residence. Mr. Price served in the US Army Air Force and was a retired boilermaker with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, and a member of First Christian Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Melba VanDalsum and Robin Stallings of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons James Price of Elizabeth City, NC, and Acie Mayo Price, Jr. of Edenton, NC, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at 11:00 AM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, September, 10, 2003 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm and following the service in the lobby of the funeral home. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
