Obituary of Noah Williams

Elizabeth City, NC Noah Norman Williams, also known as ‘Gus’ and ‘Poor Boy,’ age 67, of 1321 Lamb’s Grove Rd. Elizabeth City, NC, died Thursday, September 18, 2003 at Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Pantego, NC, to the late Forest Edwards Williams and the late Letha ChessonWilliams Lefever and was the husband of Loretta Phelps Williams of the residence. He was an independent truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Besides his wife Mr. Williams is survived by a daughter, Tena Jones of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons, Norman and Horace Williams both of the residence; a brothers, Forest ‘Tex’ Williams of Creswell, NC; and a granddaughter, Haley Jones. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Twiford’s Northside Chapel by the Rev. Roland Cooper. Burial will be a Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service and at other times at the home of Ronnie and Tena Jones, 852 Wellfield Rd., Elizabeth City, NC. Twiford’s Northside Chapel, 1115 North Road St., Elizabeth City, NC is in charge of arrangements.
