Obituary of Opal H. Moser

Opal Evalee Hayes Moser, age 82, of 2746 Barclay Avenue, Portsmouth, VA, died Thursday, September 25, 2003 in Maryview Medical Center Hospital, Portsmouth, VA. She was born in Pikeville, TN, the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Lura Caroline Rodgers Hayes, and was the widow of James Silas Moser. She was a member of White’s Creek Baptist Church in TN. Mrs. Moser is survived by one daughter, Margaret Ann Skittelthrope of Elizabeth City, NC; five sons, Ronald J. ‘Bobby’ Moser, David Moser, and Johnny Lee Moser, all of Elizabeth City, NC, Larry Dale Moser of Portsmouth, VA, and Robert Lee Moser of Chesapeake, VA; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Charles Edward Moser. A funeral service will be Monday, September 29, 2003, at 2:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Old Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home and in the lobby of the funeral home immediately following the service.
