Obituary of Willard J. Wilson
Shiloh, NC
Willard Journeay Wilson, age 85, of 1264 South 343, Shiloh, NC, died Thursday, October 2, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Currituck County, NC, son of the late Samuel and Myrtle Crain Wilson. He was the husband of Mildred Bray Wilson of the residence. Mr. Wilson was a retired machinist with Norfolk Naval Shipyard, he also served in the Merchant Marines as a Warrant Officer. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and Hall Masonic Lodge # 53 AF & AM, Shawboro, where he was a Past Master and served as secretary for many years. He was a member of the York Rite Bodies and also a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #319 where he had served as Past Worthy Patron.
Besides his wife Mr. Wilson is survived by two sons, David Wilson of Alexandria, VA, and Gerald Wilson of Williamston, NC; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 4, 2003 in Wesley United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with the Rev. David Moehring officiating.
Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends Friday evening 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel 405 East church St. Elizabeth City NC and at the residence all other times. Flowers are welcomed, however anyone wishing to, may make contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church, 152 Alder Branch Road, Shiloh, NC 27974.
