Obituary of Marjorie Gregory

Marjorie J. Gregory Former Choir Director Marjorie Jackson Gregory, age 81, of 1030 Northside Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at Albemarle Hospital. She was born in Norfolk, VA, daughter of the late Harry L. and Mattie Cartwright Jackson and was the wife of Edward M. Gregory, Sr.. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church, where she served as the church choir director for many years, and was a volunteer for the Albemarle Hospital Auxiliary and the Museum of the Albemarle. Besides her husband, Mrs. Gregory is survived by a son, Edward M. Gregory, Jr. of Elizabeth City, NC; a granddaughter, Kathy Fightmaster of Elizabeth City, NC; and a sister, Shirley Overman of Newport News, VA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 2:00 pm in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Glenn Greenway officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 and at other times at the residence.
