Obituary of Franklin Gordon

Elizabeth City, NC W. Franklin Gordon, 81, of 992 Chicken Corner Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Saturday, October 18, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Camden County, NC to the late John James and Lydia Jones Gordon and was the husband of Virginia Pritchard Gordon of the residence. Mr. Gordon was a retired maintenance supervisor with the N. C. D. O. T. and was a member of Berea Baptist Church, New Lebanon Lodge #314 AF & AM, and South Mills Chapter #270 O. E. S. Besides his wife, Mr. Gordon is survived by a daughter, Cindy Sawyer and husband, George of Elizabeth City, NC; two sons, Frankie Gordon and wife, Carliss and Gary Gordon all of Elizabeth City, NC; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC by the Rev. Roger Stanley. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home immediately following the service and at other times at the residence.
