Obituary of Roy Stallings

Roy Stallings Resident of Elizabeth City, NC Roy Glenn Stallings, age 87, of 912 West Colonial Avenue, Elizabeth City, NC, died Monday, October 20, 2003, at Winslow Memorial Nursing Home. Mr. Stallings, was born in Perquimans County, was the husband of Nell Rountree Stallings of the residence, and the son of the late Alfred F. Stallings, Sr., and Allie Bunch Stallings. He retired from Jefferson Pilot Insurance Company, a US Army veteran of WW II, and a member of The First Baptist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Judy Stallings of Elizabeth City, NC; a son Roy Glenn Stallings, Jr., of Greenville, NC; four brothers, Ellis Stallings of Belvidere, NC, Lofton Stallings of Louisville, KY, Fred Stallings and Alfred F. Stallings, Jr., both of Hobbsville, NC. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. Brightie White officiating at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the funeral home lobby and at other times at the residence.
