Obituary of Joseph B. Anderson

Joseph B. Anderson Retired Police Officer Joseph B. Anderson, age 77, of Elizabeth City, NC, died Sunday, October 26, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Elizabeth City, NC, son of the late Joseph Whayland and Eva Winslow Anderson and was the husband of Hazel Harris Anderson of the residence. He was a retired police officer for the Elizabeth City Police Department, member of First Christian Church, and Eureka Lodge # 317 AF &AM. Besides his wife, Mr. Anderson is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Anderson Crawford and husband Ray of Richmond, VA; two sons, Benjamin Whayland Anderson and wife Dottie of Elizabeth City, NC, and Michael Gene Anderson and wife Pam of Greenville, NC; two sisters, Myrtle Anderson Crain and Geneva Anderson both of Elizabeth City, NC; and three grandchildren, John Rodney Anderson, Benjamin Seth Anderson, and Kristin Nicole Smith. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Anderson Brickhouse. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at 11:00 AM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Glenn Brigman officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends immediately following the service in the lobby of the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
