Obituary of Meekins Mabel O.

Mabel Osborne Farrow Meekins, 86, died at her residence on Monday, November 10, 2003. Mrs. Meekins was born in Osborneville, NJ and was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church in Avon. She was the daughter of the late Albert L. and Mamie Burns Osborne and was the widow of Ervin M. Farrow and Reginald G. Meekins. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Everette Osborne and Albert L. Osborne. Mrs. Meekins is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Scarborough and husband, Curtis, three sons, Ervin Farrow and wife, Audrey, Charles C. Farrow and Leroy Farrow and wife, Barbara, all of Avon; ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at 2:00 PM at St. John’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Fitch-Slater and Rev. Herbert Hemingway officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church on Wednesday afternoon. Twiford’s Colony Chapel, Manteo, is assisting family with arrangements.
