Obituary of Thurman Cook Chalk

Thurman C. Chalk, age 55, of 125 Petunia Road, Maple, NC, died Saturday, December 28, 2002 at his residence. He was born in Elizabeth City, NC, the son of the late Dennis and Ruth Hollar Chalk. He was a mobile home contractor, a Baptist, and served in the U.S. National Guard. Mr. Chalk is survived by a daughter, Tanya Chalk and husband Kevin Markham of Raleigh, NC; two sons, Denny Chalk and wife Nikki of Maple, NC, and Colt Chalk of Moyock, NC; a daughter, Angel Hernandez of Greensboro, NC; one sister Denise Carraway of Snow Hill, NC; one brother Dennis Chalk, Jr. of Moyock, NC; and two grandchildren, Tighe and Julianna Chalk. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Moyock Baptist Church by the Rev. Vic Ramsey. Burial will follow in the Moyock Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and at other times at the residence.
