Obituary of Walter Ball

Walter Elijah Ball, age 84, of 725 Halls Creek Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday, January 16, 2004 in Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Pasquotank County, NC, the son of the late Walter and Evelyn Wilson Ball and was the husband of Catherine White Ball. Mr. Ball was an elevator mechanic and a member of Mt. Herman United Methodist Church. Mr. Ball is also survived by two daughters, Linda and husband Jeff Kenis of Bethesda, MD, and Kay Acurio of Elizabeth City, NC, one son, Robert Ball and wife Pat of Worcester, NY, one sister, Lucy Cartwright of Elizabeth City, NC, one brother, Jimmy Ball of Mt. Olive, NC, 12 grandchildren, Walter Ball, Frances Ball, Elizabeth Ball, Andrea Ball, Tom Helmstadt, Scott Helmstadt, Susan Whiteman, Kelly Burnette, Dennis Fish, Michael Kenis, Ruben Acurio, Erika Acurio and six great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Sunday, January 18, 2004 in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel at 3:00 pm with Rev. Haywood Gillikin officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the lobby of Twiford’s Memorial Chapel and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers memorial donations maybe made to Mt.
