Obituary of Michael McCarthy

McCARTHY HATTERAS, NC MICHAEL DENNIS McCARTHY, 49, of Hatteras, died, Tuesday, January 20, 2004, in Hatteras. Mr. McCarthy was born in Worcester, Mass and was a plastics technician. Mr. McCarthy was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing and his grandchildren. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was the son of Margaret McGrath McCarthy and the late Warren McCarthy and was the husband of Brenda Minor McCarthy. Besides his wife surviving are one daughter; Tara McCarthy Reid of Kannapolis, N.C. and one son; Ryan Michael McCarthy of Hatteras, three sisters; Kelly Grant, Kathleen Pastore and Bridgett McGovern, one brother; Mark McCarthy and four grandchildren; Matthew McCarthy, Ashton Reid and Logan Reid and Mickey McCarthy. A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Sea Catholic Church, Friday, January 23, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. by Father Andre’ Izac. Friends may join the family at Twiford’s Funeral Home, Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 602 N.
