Obituary of Jean Garrett

JEAN BROWN GARRETT Native of Tennessee Jean Brown Garrett, 83, of 527 Meadstown Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, January 28, 2004, in the Winslow Memorial Home. She was born in McMinn County, TN to the late Henry K. and Georgie Zimmerman Brown and was the widow of the late Vincent Cecil Garrett, Sr. She was retired from IXL Furniture and attended the Eureka Methodist Church. Mrs. Garrett is survived by two daughters, Wanda Odell Cain of Cumming, GA. and Frankie Vaughan Lee of Jacksonville, FL.; two sons, Vincent Cecil Garrett, Jr. of Elizabeth City and Thomas D. Garrett of Houston, TX; two brothers, James P. Brown and Bobby Brown both of Englewood, TN; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Henry Brown Vaughan. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at 2:00pm in the Twiford Memorial Chapel by Rev. B. R. Lewis. Burial will follow in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society, % Mrs. Hazel Anderson, 106 S.
