Obituary of Frank Gaskins

Ocracoke Native Frank Puitt Gaskins, age 91, of 122 Waterlily Road, Coinjock, NC, died Monday, February 9, 2004 at Sentara Nursing Home, Barco, NC. He was born in Hyde County, NC, son of the late William Joseph Gaskins, Jr. and Ethel Spencer Gaskins, and was the wife of Susan V. Brice Gaskins of the residence. Mr. Gaskins worked for the Ferry Division in Hatteras, NC. He was a Methodist Besides his wife he is survived by one step-daughter, Lois Johnson Meekins and her husband, Preston of Coinjock, NC; one sister, Dora Jane Garrish; one brother, John Gaskins and his wife Bunny all of Ocracoke, NC; eight step grandchildren and seventeen step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline Austin Gaskins; his step-son, George Thomas Johnson; his sister, Neva O’Neal; four brothers, Al Gaskins, Horace Gaskins, William Joseph Gaskins, III, and Earl Hill Gaskins. A graveside service will be Friday, February 13, 2004 at 1:00 PM in the Meekins Family Cemetery in Colington, NC, with the Rev. Steve Castle officiating.
