Obituary of Floyd Jump

Manteo Floyd Robert Jump, 80, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at an Outer Banks Medical Facility in Nags Head. Mr. Jump was born in Johnson County, Tennessee and was a retired Welder for the Department of Transportation Ferry Division and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Jump was the son of the late Carl and Gertrude Jump and was the widower of Esther O’Neal Jump. Survivors include two daughters, Frances Brinn and Cheryl Simmons both of Manteo; four sons, Robert ‘Bobby’ Jump of Manns Harbor, David Jump, Cecil Jump and Ralph, ‘R.C.’ Jump all of Manteo; two sisters, Flora Hinson and Naomi Carver, both of North Carolina; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; he was preceded in death by one sister, Clara Weaver. A Celebration of Life will be held at Twiford’s Colony Chapel, Manteo, on Saturday, February 28, 2004 at 1:00 PM with Dr. Jeff Jacobson, President of the Nags Head Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will take place in the Roanoke Island Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 27 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
