Edward Worsfold San Francisco, CA native Edward Worsfold, age 78, of 111 Inlet Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Worsfold, a native of San Francisco, CA, was the husband of Norma Bowlin Worsfold of the residence and the son of the late William Worsfold and Frances Mitchalek Worsfold. He was a retired Master Chief of the US Navy having served on Polaris Class Submarines. He had transferred from The Francis Scott Key to the Will Rogers as Chief of the Boat. He was a member of the Masonic Union Lodge No. 31 A.F. & A.M., the Elizabeth City Chapter #44 Order of the Eastern Star, and a life member of Moose Lodge # 1198. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Louise Polston of Rathdrum, ID, Vickie Christensen and husband Ray of Statten Island, NY, and Anita Claiborne and husband Taylor of Stovall, NC; a son, Edward Worsfold, Jr., of Louisburg, NC; a sister, Gladys Potts and husband Edgar of Petaluma, CA; a brother William Worsfold, Jr., of Kettle Falls, WA; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. A memorial service will be Friday, March 5, 2004, at 2:30 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, with Masonic rites and full military honors. The family will receive friends at the residence.
