Obituary of Johnnie Bratten

Johnnie H. Bratten Native of Kinston, NC Johnnie H. Bratten, age 83, Poplar Branch, NC, died Sunday, March 21, 2004 at Albemarle Hospital. She was born in Lenoir County, NC, and was the widow of Joseph Mack Bratten. Besides being a proud home maker, Mrs. Bratten worked at the New Fowler Store in Elizabeth City and Dr. C.N. Wright Medical Practice in Jarvisburg, NC, and was a member of Poplar Branch Baptist Church. Mrs. Bratten is survived by two daughters, Lola McNeese of Shepherdsville, KY, and Sylvia Griggs of Grandy, NC; three sons, Wayne Bratten of Pauleys Island, SC, James Bratten of Edenton, NC, and John Bratten of Fort Wayne, IN; two sisters, Sadie Farmer and Bernice Sutton; eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 11:00 AM in Poplar Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn McCraine and Rev. Bill Thorn officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Poplar Branch. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM.
