Obituary of William Gray
WILLIAM ‘BILLY’ LAMMAR GRAY, 64, of Stumpy Point, died, Thursday, March 25, 2004 in Nags Head. Mr. Gray was born in Stumpy Point and was a commercial fisherman and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
He was the son of the late William Edward and Caddie Belle McKenney Gray and the husband of Carolyn Knight Gray of Stumpy Point.
Besides his wife, survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Cahoon and Barbara Harris both of Stumpy Point; two sons, Billy Knight and Lammar Gray both of Stumpy Point; two sisters, Katherine Flowers of Manteo and Martha Gray of Wanchese; three brothers, Gilbert Gray and Jimmy Gray both of Stumpy Point and Jack Gray of Virginia; three grandchildren, Ryan Harris, LeAnne Harris, Suzanne Harris, Charles Knight, Michael Knight, and Autumn Brock; and three great grandchildren, Alex Knight, Kayla Knight, and Justin Knight. Mr. Gray was pre-deceased by his brothers Calbert Gray and Bruce Gray.
A celebration of life will be held in Shiloh United Methodist Church, Sunday, March 28, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Tom Clark with burial in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family at Twiford’s Funeral Home, Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shiloh United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 37, Stumpy Point, N.C. 27978. Twiford’s Colony Chapel Manteo is assisting the Gray family.
