Obituary of Patrick Morgan

Patrick Henry Morgan Shawboro, NC native Patrick Henry Morgan, age 83, of 150 Baxter Estates Road, Moyock, NC, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, in the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Morgan, a native of Shawboro, NC, was the son of the late Edwin Ferebee Morgan and Lucille Baxter Morgan and was married for fifty-four years to Irene Shelton Morgan of the residence. He was a graduate of Swanee Military Academy and had a Degree in Textile Engineering from North Carolina State University and a MA from Marshall University. He was a US Army Veteran of WW II having served in Japan, and had duty tours in Korea, and Thailand and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1966 after twenty years of service. He worked as a textile engineer for Dan River Mills and was a Professor of Engineering and the Dean of Applied Science at Marshall University, retiring in 1979 when he moved home to Currituck, NC. He was a member of Pilmoor United Methodist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathy M. Fredericks and husband Douglas W. of Yorktown, VA; and two sons, Dr. Patrick H. Morgan, Jr., and wife Sharon of Currituck, NC, and Dr. Michael B. Morgan and wife Robin of Kitty Hawk, NC; and seven grandchildren, Patrick H. Morgan, III, Kristin Morgan, David Morgan, Doug Fredericks, Dana Fredericks, Katie Morgan, and Stephanie Morgan. Funeral services will be Friday, April 16, 2004, at 2:00 PM at Pilmoor United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Wilson-Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Moyock Memorial Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the U.S. Army.
