Obituary of Margarette Banks

Margarette Iona Turner Banks Native of Pasquotank Co., NC Margarette Iona Turner Banks, age 86, of 433 S. Hughes Blvd., Elizabeth City, NC, died Monday, May 10, 2004, in the Albemarle Hospital. She was a native of Pasquotank County, NC. She was daughter of the late Alfred L. Turner and Mae Davis Turner, and wife of the late James C. Banks, and a member of Berea Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Esther B. Temple and her husband, Kenyon of SouthPort, NC; one son, James A. Banks and his wife Kay of South Mills, NC; two grandchildren Amy C. Banks of South Mills, NC, and Jason A. Banks of Richmond, VA. Mrs. Banks was predeceased by two sisters, Hazel T. Whitehurst and Elizabeth T. Jackson. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 3:00 PM in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, with Rev Glenn Greenway and David Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home following the service.
