Obituary of Lois Saunders

SAUNDERS MANTEO, N.C. LOIS CUDWORTH SAUNDERS, 84, formerly of Manteo, died, Friday, May 14, 2004 in Elizabeth City, N.C. Mrs. Saunders was born in Engel hard and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Lois was known as ‘Bobi’ by all of her grandchildren, who wll miss her dearly. Mrs. Saunders was owner of The Drafty Tavern for many years. She was the daughter of the late Vance and Ina Midgett Cudworth and was the widow of Gaston Saunders. Surviving are one daughter; Sandra S. Webb of Tarboro, N.C., two sisters; Wilma Scarborough and Jean Daniels both of Wanchese, one brother; Louis Cudworth of Baltimore, MD, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Iris Midgett. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 17, 2004, at 3:00 p.m. in Twiford’s Colony Chapel. Burial will be in Cudworth Cemetery. Friends may join the family at Twiford’s Funeral Home on Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and at other times 406 Woodard Road Kitty Hawk.
