Obituary of John Brothers

John L. Brothers VA Beach ‘ John Lewis Brothers, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 23, 2004 with family members at his side. Mr. Brothers was born in Princess Anne County to the late Benjamin Luther and Ida Mitchell Brothers. He was retired from the VA Beach Utility Department, and a member of the Church of Christ at Creeds. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Lianae S. Brothers; one daughter, Jeanette L. Goins and husband Jim of Richmond; four sons, William L. Brothers and wife, Faye of Richmond, John A. Brothers and wife, Nita of Chesterfield County, VA, James M. Brothers and wife, Susan of Chesapeake and Carey R. Brothers and wife, Kathy of VA Beach; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Rosewood Memorial Park with Minister John Boyer officiating. The family will receive friends at Twiford’s Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake on Tuesday from 7:00 until 8:00 pm. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com.
