Obituary of Melanie Cartwright

CAMDEN NC ASSISTANT CLERK OF COURT, CAMDEN COUNTY MELANIE ANN ‘MEL’ WOOD CARTWRIGHT, age 46 of 186 Country Club Road, Camden NC went home to join her Heavenly Choir, Thursday June 24, 2004. She was a member of Sawyer’s Creek Baptist Church, a member of the choir, the Performing Arts Singing Group and the Middle Baptist Women. Over the years she had served on various committees and was very involved with the youth. Mel was the daughter of Thomas Wood Sr. of Camden NC, and the late Barbara Dowdy Wood, and the wife of Danny T. Cartwright of the home. Besides her husband and father she is survived by one son, Juston Cartwright of the home; one brother Thomas Wood Jr. and wife Kathy of Camden NC; her mother in law Nell Cartwright ‘Mamaw’ of Camden NC; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, June 27, 2004, at 3:00 PM in Sawyer’s Creek Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. At other times the family will be at the residence.
