Obituary of Esther Whitlock

Avon, NC Esther Scarborough Whitlock, 85, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at a nursing facility in Richmond, VA. Mrs. Whitlock was born in Avon, was a homemaker and was a member of Avon Worship Center. She was the daughter of the late John Newby Scarborough and the late Annie Gray Scarborough and the widow of Winfred Rufus Whitlock. She is survived by one son, Timothy Madison Whitlock and his wife Bonnie of Bumpass, VA; one brother, Curtis Scarborough of Avon; one nephew, Clifton Dale Scarborough and four grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Avon Worship Center on Saturday, July 3, 2004 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Timothy Cooper officiating. Burial will take place in the Gray Family Cemetery located in Avon. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, July 2nd from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Twiford’s Island Chapel, Hatteras, is assisting the family with these arrangements.
