Obituary of Jean Miller

Duck, NC Jean Hambleton Miller, 81, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at a Norfolk hospital. Mrs. Miller was born in Washington, DC and was a retired artist and a homemaker. She was a graduate of Miami University and a member of the Duck Woods Country Club, the Dare County Arts Council and the Outer Banks Community Foundation. Mrs. Miller was the daughter of the late James I. Hambleton and the late Mabel Nichol Hambleton and the wife of Glen Miller of the home. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Melissa M. Gibson and husband, James E. of Williamsburg, VA; two sisters, Edwina Earp of Olney, MD and Nancy Chance of Brookville, MD; three grandchildren, Chase, Deehje and Taylor Gibson; she was preceded in death by two sons, Chase H. Miller and Craig N. Miller. A Memorial Service will be held at the Duck United Methodist Church Gazebo on Friday, July 30, 2004 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Charles Gill officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Outer Banks Community Foundation, P.O. Box 1100, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948. Twiford’s Colony Chapel, Manteo, is in charge of these arrangements.
